Major goals for your projects

1] Apply what you are learning in this class to an unknown plant.

2] Compare the anatomy of the unknown plant to "textbook"    plants.

3] Relate the anatomical traits of the unknown to Xeromorphic and Hydromorphic adaptations.

4] Learn how to write a scientific paper.

5] Learn how to compose your paper for the Internet.

6] Give evidence that you have learned how to cut sections with the cryotome, stain them with toluidine blue & other pertinent stains, photograph, digitize, modify and label them.

A typical Scientific Paper has the following parts.

Title

Abstract

Key Words

Introduction

Materials & Methods

Results

Discussion

The Key Words are the LAST section to do!

The Title is the Next to LAST thing to do!

Do the Abstract before the Title

I usually start with the Materials & Methods.
This gets the ball rolling and helps me recall the way in which I approached the study.
