Primary growth refers to all tissues directly derived from Apical Meristems. These occur in stems and roots.

Apical Meristems produce the Primary Meristems which produce the Primary Tissues.

Primary growth ocurs in all plant organs. These include leaves and flower parts.

Primary growth is generally associated with axis elongation.
