Description

Tree with a long, clear, cylindrical trunk indistinctly buttressed at the base. Produces relatively little resin for an Agathis. Juvenile leaves lanceolate, to 13 cm long by 3.5 cm wide. Adult leaves oval, acute, 6-8 cm long by 2-3 cm wide, well rounded at the apex, petiole indistinct. Male cone to 3.5 cm long and 1-1.5 cm wide; microsporophylls broadly rounded with a narrow flange, exposed; pollen sacs 7-12. Female cone globular or ovoid, 5.5-8 cm long by 5-7.8 cm wide, scales nearly triangular, exposed part of scale extends the entire width of the scale, upper corners of scales usually angular and rigid, scales with a small scallop 1/6 size of the scale near the base. Seeds subovoid, 1.5 cm long by 1 cm wide, one wing small, one large (1).

Philippines: Palawan; Indonesia: Celebes; Moluccas; 200-2000 m (1).
