Anatomy of an Alien Invader

Leucaena leucocephala (a.k.a. koa haole) is an extremely invasive species. It quickly colonizes bare ground and forms a monoculture that shades out other plants. It is a member of the Fabaceae and has a Legume for its fruit. The anatomy of its flower is instructive, however, and it is exclusively available here for your intellectual gratification! It is similar to Acacia koa!
