Dr. John Rogers Cell Physiology Group at University of Cambridge.
- Axonal pathfinding: forming the circuits
Lecture describing the mechanisms by which the neural circuits which control behaviour are constructed during development. Author: Dr. R. Meldrum Robertson.
- Development of Axonal Connections in the Mammalian Central Nervous System
We believe that studies of retinal axon guidance not only further our understanding of visual system development, but can also provide insight into how axon projections are formed elsewhere in the brain.
- Guthrie Laboratory
Department of Developmental Neurobiology at Kings College, Guys Campus, London.
- Professor Chi-Bin Chien
Dr. Chien studies the retinotectal projection of the zebrafish Danio rerio, which has several advantages as a model system. The projection is precise and has been extensively studied, can be manipulated by embryological and molecular techniques, and owing to the transparency of the zebrafish embryo, can be easily observed in great detail.
- Professor Strittmatter
Prof. Strittmatter focuses on explaining the mechanism whereby repulsive signals are registered at the growth cone. Interdepartmental Neuroscience Program, Yale US.
