F1F0 ATP synthase (Escherichia coli)
F-type ATPase (F1F0 ATP synthase) [EC:3.6.1.34]
- F1 = core enzyme (beta,alpha) + stalk/rotor (gamma,epsilon,delta), F0 = proton channel
- In bacteria: F1=alpha3+beta3+gamma+delta+epsilon, F0=a+b2+c12 (see figure)
V-type ATPase (Vacuolar ATP synthase) [EC:3.6.1.34]
- V1 = core enzyme (A,B) + stalk/stators (I,E,F)
- Catalytic subunits (A,B in V1; beta,alpha in F1) are well conserved.
- Lipid-binding components (K in V0; c in F0) are well conserved.
Interesting similarities to F1 beta & alpha
- FliI, Flagellum-specific ATP synthase
- Rho,Transcription termination factor
