Larix decidua


Pinus cembra (stone pine). This alpine species belongs to a subgenus of Pinus that is characterized by short shoots with five needles in contrast to the two needles typical for Pinus sylvestris, for example. The stone pine forms the tree limit of the lime stone mountains of the alps. - Pinus canariensis. This species, too, has short shoots with five needles.
