Diagram showing different growth responses of the three main plant organs to auxins



Auxin was applied from the outside to stems, roots and (axillary) buds. The curves illustrate the responses (stimulation (promotion) or inhibition of growth-rates) in relation to the applied concentrations of IAA. The curves do not necessarily represent the relationships between internal auxin concentrations and growth-rates. (According to: L. J. AUDUS, 1959)
