Tree. Geographic distribution: Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and Indomalesia.

General. Heartwood basically brown white or grey. Sapwood colour similar to heartwood colour. Basic specific gravity (0.31–)0.35–0.5(–0.6) g/cm³.

Vessels. Wood diffuse-porous. Vessels in multiples, commonly short (2–3 vessels) radial rows or radial rows of 4 or more. Vessel outline rounded, or angular. Average tangential vessel diameter 60–125 µm. Average number of vessels/mm² 20–36(–40). Perforation plates simple or scalariform, with 6–36(–40) bars. Intervessel pits opposite or alternate, average diameter (vertical) 4–6(–10) µm. Vessel-ray pits with reduced borders or apparently simple, horizontal to vertical. Tyloses in vessels present (infrequent), thinwalled.

Tracheids and fibres. Fibres very thin-walled, or of medium wall thickness. Average fibre length 1040–2320 µm. Fibre pits mainly restricted to radial walls, simple to minutely bordered. Fibres septate and non-septate. Septate fibres evenly distributed.

Axial parenchyma. Axial parenchyma absent or extremely rare.

Rays. Rays 4–11 per tangential mm, multiseriate, also if only few, (1–)2–3 cells wide. Rays composed of two or more cell types. Heterocellular rays square and upright cells restricted to marginal rows. Number of marginal rows of upright or square cells 1, or 2–4. Also with fusiform rays containing radial canals, the latter quite broad and up to 1 mm high.

Secretory structures. Intercellular canals present, non-traumatic origin, radial type.

Mineral inclusions. Crystals not observed. Silica not observed.
