Lycos Top 5%

PPIGB was selected as a TOP 5% Resource on the Web by LYCOS Top 5% on September 12, 1997. It is lieded under SCIENCE/BIOLOGY/BOTANY and LIFESTYLE/HOBBIES/GARDENING. Lycos Rating: content 92, design 81, overall 88 (on a scale from 0 to 100). Here is the review of Lycos on PPIGB:
It's sounds academic, and it is, but this is an invaluable resource for those studying sick plant management. Updated frequently, and with detailed descriptions of nearly every site listed, the broad range of plant pathology topics includes mycology, microbiology, bacteriology, and entomology. There are even several glossaries listed to tell you which -ology is which. The highlighted links here have to do with crops and pesticides, weeds, bugs, journals and institutions. A simple and efficient design makes it a snap to find out about bacterial biocontrol or the Blue Mold forecast. With so much to browse here, even weekend grass whackers will find their bookmarks growing like weeds.
LYCOS has closed the TOP 5% section in 1999 but invited all owners of the award to place the Top 5% icon on their page as a special honour of web site excellence.
