Start with a Typical Parenchyma Cell
Add a Casparian Strip
Stack-1: The Casparian Strip is
united between each Cell. The Suberin Permeates
the Primary Cell Wall and Pectins of the Middle Lamella to form a solid seal.
Keep on Stacking!!!
OK! OK! I got it!!!!!!!
Add a stack to the Left!! |
Add another Stack and so on!!!!
I separated these two cell stacks to emphasize that the Casparian
Strip forms an unbroken barrier to Apoplastic movement. Molecules must enter the
Plasmalemma to get to the other side.
