Sabal uresana
Synonymy: Unknown | Distribution: Mexico |
Common names: Sonoran palmetto, palma blanca | Conservation status: Not threatened |
Adult in habitat
From Mexico, this palm has stunning silvery blue leaves which really stand out in the landscape. Why, oh
why, is it not in cultivation all over the world? Instead it is regarded as 'rare' yet in its native home it is so
common as to be a conspicuous element of the countryside. Fabulous as a house- or greenhouse subject
and well deserving of much wider use. Very hardy, too.
