In certain areas of Mexico's Sinaloa province, this palm can be seen by the hundred thousand, covering
great areas of the countryside to the exclusion of all else. Curious then that it is practically unknown in
cultivation. This is a shame because it is an easy and interesting species with thick, blue/green leathery
leaves and is tolerant of both drought and flood. An excellent palm for the bright conservatory, or in a
bright spot in the home.
