Pinanga gracilis

Synonymy: Unknown Distribution: India, in the Himalaya Mountains
Common names: Himalayan Pinanga Conservation status: Uknown

Pinangas are usually associated with the tropics and considered tricky to grow. This cool-growing
species from the Himalayas in India is, thus, a lucky find. It tolerates low temperatures - though
probably not freezing - and performs well in the shady greenhouse or conservatory. An unusual
palm which, while looking very tropical, is rather easy to look after.
