Hedyscepe canterburyana

An excellent palm for the cooler subtropics and temperate climates, this slow-growing species is from Lord Howe Island (off Australia). It requires shade when young and is also said to be a good container palm. Fruit take up to four years to mature and are not easy to judge when ripe. Seed germination can take from 6 to 19 months.
