Chamaedorea radicalis

This is the hardiest of the Chamaedorea palms, and is able to tolerate at least -6º or -8ºC. when larger. Its appearance would seem to bear this out; its leaves are thick and leathery and very tough looking. Additionally, it grows well in cool climates and doesn't seem to need summer heat. Very attractive as a house or conservatory palm too. Cultural requirements as the other species. It can grow to 10 feet. Plant one in the shady border when large enough, and just leave it to do its own thing.
