Walking tours led by Garden Guides leave from the ticket counter at 1:00 p.m. daily throughout the year, except during Japanese Festival on Labor Day weekend and Best of Missouri Market in early October. Free with regular Garden admission or Garden membership.

Garden Walkers' Breakfasts. In cooperation with the American Heart Association, the grounds open early every Wednesday and Saturday morning at 7:00 a.m. to encourage fitness walking. A heart-healthy breakfast is available for purchase in the Gardenview Restaurant from 7:00 to 10:30 a.m. Garden admission is free to St. Louis City and County residents until noon every Wednesday and Saturday throughout the year, except during Japanese Festival on Labor Day weekend and Best of Missouri Market in early October.

Gardening displays this month feature "Roses," "Daylilies," and "Warm Season Vegetables." 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Kemper Center for Home Gardening. Free with regular Garden admission or Garden membership.

through August 14: Exhibition of Missouri Botanical Garden staff photographs continues. During regular Garden hours. Grigg Hall. Free with regular Garden admission or Garden membership.

June 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, & July 7: Whitaker Jazz Festival. Series of popular starlight evening concerts amidst the summer Garden. Bring a picnic or just feast on the sights and sounds. Wednesday evenings. Cohen Amphitheater. Free. Sponsored by the Whitaker Foundation. Details to be announced.

June 5: Chinese Culture Day Celebration. Chinese cultural activities and events for the whole family. Special tours of the Chinese garden, Chinese food vendors, arts and crafts, demonstrations of traditional Chinese music, and the fabulous lion dance. Free with regular Garden admission or Garden membership. Details to be announced.

June 5, 12, 19, & 26: Work and tell demonstrations. Master Gardeners present ongoing hands-on demonstrations each Saturday during the months of June and August on a variety of gardening topics, this month featuring "Container Plants." Specific topics are: "Vegetables for Containers" (June 5),"Herbs for Containers" (June 12), "Sun and Shade" (June 19), and "Unusual Containers" (June 26). 11:00 a.m. to noon. Summer Plant House at the Kemper Center for Home Gardening. Free with regular Garden admission or Garden membership. Registration is not required. Demonstrations will be cancelled in the event of rain.

June 6: Greater St. Louis Iris Society show. Noon to 6:00 p.m. Orthwein Floral Display Hall. Free with regular Garden admission or Garden membership.

June 19-20: Mid-America Regional Lily Society show. 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Orthwein Floral Display Hall. Free with regular Garden admission or Garden membership.

June 26-27: West County Daylily Club show and sale. Saturday show hours are noon to 5:00 p.m. and sale hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday show and sale hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Show is in Orthwein Floral Display Hall. Sale is in Beaumont Room. Free with regular Garden admission or Garden membership.
