    Lodging in Cambridge, Massachusetts

    All housing in Cambridge is expensive and in heavy demand. Reservations should be made early, even several months in advance, or as early in advance as the B & B or hotel will take them.

    The following are arranged by price/convenience, with B & Bs listed before hotels. Most visitors to the Harvard Herbaria stay at Irving House or A Friendly Inn because of price and proximity.

    The transportation system (subways and buses) in the Boston area is also convenient from many outlying areas, so if you have friends in some of the surrounding towns it might be worthwhile to consider staying with them and using public transportation.
