Pearl Millet is an important source of food and fodder in semi-arid regions of Rajasthan State, India. In the present study, nine hybrids and three varieties were evaluated in a Randomized Block Design with three replications for their comparative performance in this area. Hybrids RHB-58, MLBH-285 and XM-631 have significantly higher grain yield than the best check MH-169, whereas both the varieties Raj-171 and ICMV-221 gave more grain yield than the check ICTP-8203. Hybrid GHB-15 produced highest number of effective tillers per plant. The hybrid performance was better as compared to the varieties studied. The study concluded that hybrid RHB-58 and MLBH-285 and var. Raj-171 were found best.
