ULTRASTRUCTURAL CHANGES DURING RESERVE DEPOSITION IN APPLE SEED

Laurencia Artemov Institute of Plant physiology Moldavian Academy of Sciences, str.Padurilor 22, Chisinau, Moldova, 2018

The first strucrural indication of storage protein accumulation within the vacuoles system appears as small clumps dense stainning material with a homogenous fine granular structure attached to the inner surface of the tonoplast of all vacuoles there is a lot of ribosomes in the adjacent cytoplasm. Globoid round in profile, are observed in vacuoles prior to protein deposition. The size of globoid varied from tissue-to-tissue and in a given protein body. The globoid crystals seems to be nuclei for deposition of protein material. Between 75-80 days after anthesis a large proportion of vacuoles fills with proteins. The difference in the structure of protein bodies may be related purely to the different maturation stages.
