The diversity, floristic subdivisions and hot spots of high endemism of mosses in Asia (East, South and Southeast Asia) and Oceania is reviewed. Patterns of distributions of moss diversity in these two vast regions are compared and discussed. An updated account of the diversity and distribution of mosses in Indian subcontinent, a lesser known bryofloristic area in Asia, is also attempted.
