XVI International Botanical Congess
Because of the interaction between the biotic and abiotic components influenced by the human control and also because of the complexity of their interactions, the agroecosystems could be included among the most dynamic existing ecosystems. The present work aims at characterizing the dynamics of this sort of ecosystems through the methodology proposed by Crespí et al. (1996), supported by a statistic multivariate analysis. This methodology is applied in an area situated in the north-east of Portugal (north-west of the Iberian Peninsula), where an agroecosystem located on the secondary dune of the Atlantic coast is found.
