During the solving of the research program Protection and conservation of original Slovak germplasm is our interest concentrated for bean (Phaseolus sp.) Too. Up to the present time we collected more than 1200 samples of beans, mostly old varieties and landraces. For evaluation of collection is used basic evaluation according new descriptor list and including data into database. For determination of genotypes is used image database of leaves, flowers, pods and seeds, what is not always sufficient. It was the reason for application of fuzzy sets to help find ways of determination genotypes. We recommend to use this method for study of plant germplasm.
