Leaf litter decomposition and N-release of 11 nitrogen fixing and non-nitrogen fixing tree species were studied. The results showed that nitrogen fixing tree species have a significant effect of N supply, not only the biological decay coefficient in leaf litter and dry weight losses of leaf litter, but also available N release from leaf litter of nitrogen fixing tree species were higher than those of non-nigtrogen fixing ones, the former was respectively 1.3 times, 1.5 times and 8.2 times higher than that of the latter.
