Morphological studies on Hypoxis in DR of Congo, Rwanda and Burundi proved, that seed testa structure is a usefulfeature in the taxonomy of this genus. Seed morphology was taken into consideration by Brackett (1923) for Americanspecies and Nordal (1985) for East African taxa, but there were no research concerning Central African species.A posterpresents 5 different seed sculptures. It shows also distribution of types of testa sculpture among Central African species. References: Brackett A.,1923, Contrib.Gray Herb., N.S.69:120-147 Nordal I. & al.,1985, Nord.J.Bot.5:15-30.
