The coenological characteristics of Taxus mairei forest communities in north Guangdong province were studied by investigating and analyzed 5200 m2 plots. The results showed: Taxus mairei can be formed into dominant or abundant population, but it mainly sparsely distributed in the communities, and those communities also are typical Fengshui woody communities, typical evergreen broad-leaved forest of transition zone from lower subtropics to mid-subtropics, in communities, the seed plant flora consisted of 82 families, 194 genera and 397 species. A total of 306 species (including 2076 individual, trees high 1.5 m) was recorded, 66 species account for 69.5% of the total importance value, then the importance values (IV) of Taxus mairei, Castanopsis fargesii, Liquidamber formosana are the highest.
