Tsarenko V.P. Far Eastern Selection Station, Russian Institute of Plants, 690025, Vladivostok, Russia

We have observed the areas of the Eastasian cherry species and founded a rather large live collection (300 specimens) of cherry trees: Cerasus sachalinensis, C. kurilensis, C. maximoviczii and Microcerasus glandulosa. A comprehensive description of the species has been given. Significant polymorphism in the species has been revealed . According to the color of petals 3 varieties have been recognized within C. sachalinensis and C. kurilensis (var. alba, var. palliderosea, var. atrorosea) and 2 varieties within Microcerasus glandulosa (var. Palliderosea, var. atrorosea).
