K. N. Toderich, Samarkand Department of Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, Samarkand 703000, Uzbekistan

Kochia prostrata is considered as perennial euxerophyte, semishrub of height 30-75 sm. As drought- and salt-tolerant plant is uded for improvement and/or creation of cultivated long-term pastures in arid zones. Due to good aftergrowing capacity and high nutritional contents are consumable as calorific feed for animals around year. The lively collection of more than 35 specimens of Kochia from various ecological areas of Middle Asia is created in Uzbekistan. However the cultural methods to restore the Asiatic Kochia species have never been developed. The purpose of this study is to analyze the peculiarities of reproductive biology, genome and economic useful traits of certain ecotypes of Kochia. The high level of polymorphism of flower's organs were established. Interecotypes variability of genome (2n=18,36,54) is shown. The mathematical model based on the interrelation of male gametophyte indexes and economic traits for selection Program Development is supposed. Thus, this study offers the potential to develop new plant material and revegetation techniques for restoration of desert ranges in both Uzbekistan and other areas of Central Asia. The plant material developed in Uzbekistan may well be a marketable germplasm for arid countries around the world.
