Bach Ma is termination of the north part of Truong Son mountain chain belonging to the Thua Thien-Hue province of the Centre of Vietnam. This range of mountains is inclining lower downward the sea. The climate is humid or per-humid (85-90%) year-round. An average yearly rainfall goes up 3,000=3,500 mm with 2 clear rain and dry seasons. The flora of this mountain is rather rich, containing subtropical and tropical components of the flora. It also supports many species of Malesiana flora and Yunnan flora. The flora was listed about 1,090 species, 532 genera and 274 families with characteristic families: Dipterocarpaceae, Fabaceae, Fagaceae, Lauraceae, Theaceae. Of them, 178 medicinal plant species and many precious timber species and endangered species of Vietnam were also estimated. The vegetation includes 2 main formations: tropical ombrophilous lowland forest below 900m and subtropical submontane forest between 900 and 1450m.
