TAXONOMICAL, BIOCHEMICAL AND ECOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF MADEIRA FRULLANIA RADDI SPECIES

The main objective of the work, is a contribute for a better and integrated knowledge of the Frullania taxa in the Atlantic Archipelago of Madeira. In this work eight Frullania species, F. dilatata, F. ericoides, F. azorica, F. tamarisci, F. polysticta, F. teneriffae, F. microphylla and F. sergii sp. nov, a new species from Madeira, are included. For each species morphological characters were defined. Scanning photos of the main distinctive characters were performed and the flavonoid pattern is also presented. The DCCA was used to analyse the distributional patterns of the species.
