We have succeeded in isolating a actin-bundling protein composed of 35 kDa polypeptide form pollen tube of lily. In the present study, we analyzed the function of this actin-bundling protein in vivo, using root hair cells of Hydrocharis. Immunofluorescence microscopy showed co-loclizaiton of the bundling protein with actin bundles. The antibody introduced into the cell induce disorganization of bundles. Thus, this novel actin-bundling protein is concerned with formation of actin bundles in higher plant cells.
