The mushrooms about 500 species hold significant place in the biota of Azerbaijan. 47 species from them belong belong to Agariceae. Described species include 7 genera. They consist of 3 ecological groups. The most of them (38 sp.) are humus saprotrophes, 7 species (Cystoderma granulosum, Lepiota eriophora and others ) are litter saprotrophes and only Melanophyllum echinatum is xylotrophes. The genera of Lepiota (21 sp.) and Agaricus (14 sp.) predominate among them by number of species. Exept the famous mushrooms the caps of the species of Macrolepiota genus are edible too. But there is a dealth poisonous fungi - Lepiota brunneo-incornata belongs to this family. Agaricus xanthodermus and A. melangris are poisonous too. Distribution of identicated species in the Europe and Azia is noted in the literature.
