XVI International Botanical Congess
The taxa of superspecific rank of Campanulaceae family with Caucasian s.l. origin are characterized by a certain complex of morphological, kariological, ecotopological and phytogeographical features, belong to the same affinity circle and have an autochthonous origin. They were formed in the conditions of a rather humid, warm and equable climate and by the origin are light-requiring low-mountain petrophytes, mostly calciphils. They have undergone a quiet evolution without disastrous changes in the same rocky and scree ecotops in which they arose. The origination of these taxa took place not later than in upper Miocene.
