XVI International Botanical Congess
We found that tetraploids (2n=4x=32) and pentaploids (2n=5x=40) of Allium grayi plants grew mixed in the natural populations in five localities of Okayama Pref., Japan. Some hexaploid plants were first discovered in western part of Japan. By our discrimination standard of basic chromosome complement, tetraploid was classified into two kinds of karyotypes and pentaploid four kinds of karyotypes. Cytology of A. grayi in Chinese populations is in progress.
