Chromosome analyses by genomic in situ hybridization (GISH) were carried out in an artificial F1 hybrid between Leucanthemella linearis (2n=18) and Nipponanthemum nipponicum (2n=18). By GISH method using biotin-labelled total genomic DNA probe of N. nipponicum, 9 small N. nipponicum chromosomes showed yellow FITC fluorescence and 9 large L. linearis chromosomes were counterstained red with PI. On the contrary, the reverse was the result. Blocking DNA was not necessary for this purpose. Results of FISH on this hybrid will be presented in the poster.
