XVI International Botanical Congess
This interdisciplinary long term project has been monitoring ecological data over 5 years on a Lowland Atlantic Rain Forest of Volta Velha Reserve, (26? 04'S, 48? 38'W GR), Itapoá, State of Santa Catarina, South Brazil integrating geology, soil, vegetation, and fauna studies in order to better understand the dynamic of this ecosystem. The results of the vegetation and fauna censuses as well as the phenology, dispersion, seed rain, seedling establishment and nutrient cycling data related to the successional dynamics of three areas representing different successional stages are presented and discussed.
