ETHNOBOTANY OF A DRY FOREST IN HONDURAS

C. Nelson (Departamento de Biología, Universidad Nacional Autónoma, Tegucigalpa, Honduras)

A study was carried out in several communities living in a dry pine forest close to the capital city of Honduras. It was learned that people, despite the nearness to the capital city, still used medicinal plants to cure some of their ailments and for magic. More than 200 plants were reported as useful to the communities for medicinal purposes.
