The genetic resource of most important turfgrass, C. dactylon (I.) Pers was studied based on the assessment of the economic value of warm season turfgrasses in East China, which included: 1) the relationship of the morphological variation with the latitudes, 2) the clustering analysis of the morphological type of C. dactylon (L.) Pers., five morphological types exist in East China, 3) turf quality assessment were made, dwarf-fine type has the highest turf quality, 4) C106, one variant of the dwarf-fine type has been successfully used in the turf establishment of the sport field (including mini-golf course), open green and soil conservation green.
