M. Kuzmina, Botanical Institute of St. Petersburg, Prof. Popov Str., 2, St. Petersburg, Russia.

The revision of the genus Dianthus L. (Caryophyllaceae) of the Eastern Europe and Caucasus encloses nearly the third part of the whole genus (about 100 species). Several Central-European and Turkish species are found in the Crimea and Caucasus. The detailed geographical analysis of the most important relations between the South-Russian and North-Caucasian species and between Central-European and East-European species is made. Interesting relationships are determined between some Caucasian and Ural species. Some amplifications are represented in the work, concerned with system of the genus Dianthus (specifical structure of the sections and their limits).
