XVI International Botanical Congess

The Early Cretaceous (Hauterivian to Barremian) Baisa locality in Transbaikalia yielded ten species of peculiar proangiospermous plants. It is considered as representing a major center of morphological innovation giving leading to angiosperm grade. The role of insects as promoters of proangiosperm evolution is confirmed by their gut contents.
