Mukaila Kadiri, University of Agriculture, Department of Biological Sciences, Abeokuta, Nigeria

The paper describes steps involved in the cultivation of Lentinus subnudus Berk, an edible Nigerian mushroom on uncomposted substrate. The composition of the uncomposted substrate was rice straw (86%), rice bran (10%) and calcium sulphate (4%). The mean number of healthy fruit-bodies per bag was 12. The entire cultivation cycle took about 60 days with biological efficiency of about 40% being attained.
