INVESTIGATION OF RUBUS RESOURCES IN YUNNAN, CHINA

The Rubus resources in China is abundant as there are more than 200 species distributed. It is considered that SW China (Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan and Xizang) is one of the world distribution center of Rubus. After investigations in Guizhou and Sichuan, field works have been carried out in Yunnan in 1996-1997 under the financial support of the National Geographic Society, U.S.A. Specimens of 60 species and 15 varieties have been collected in the wild by taking a route of over 10000 kms. Among those one new species, five new varieties and seven of species new distribution have been found.
