FLORISTIC DIVERSITY IN THE RIO CENEPA DRAINAGE BASIN AND ADJACENT AREAS, AMAZONAS, PERU

The study was carried out in the Rio Cenepa Drainage Basin and adjacent areas, this region is located in the Amazonas Department, Per?.was carried out in two stages:The first took place in the field, consisting of botanical colecctions and collection of ecological data through 2 x 500 m transects and also, use of permanent plots of 25 htares, with intensive sampling over 2 htares.The second consisted of identification of the voucher specimens in the following herbaria: HUT, USM, AMAZ and MO. Until now we have produced a preliminary version of the catalogue that includes nearly 15000 collection numbers.Of all plants collections 7906 are identified to species 11803 to genus and 13864 to family.The plants comprise 165 families, 822 genera and 2000 species.In addition, we compare our data with the Aguaruna vegetation classification.
