TAXONOMY AND KARYOTYPES OF EAST ASIAN BUPLEURUM L.(UMBELLIFERAE)

East Asian Bupleurum longiradiatum Turcz. (2n=12), B. sachalinense Fr. Schmidt (2n=12), B. triradiatum Adams ex Hoffm. (2n=16), B. euphorbioides Nakai (2n=16), B. atargense Gorovoi (2n=14), B. komarovianum Lincz. (2n=8), B. scorzonerifolium Willd. (2n=12) are diploids and have metacentric and submetacentric chromosomes. There are 1-2 small spheroid satellites. B. scorzonerifolium and B. komarovianum termed in the literature on Asian herbs as B. ,falcatum, differ in morphological features, karyotypes range and ecology. Only one species B. atargense is an endemic of North East Asia, it has 2n=14 and separate karyotype. B. sibiricum Vest has 2n=64 (x=8). This species is polyploid and has morphological features of the subsections CrysophytonLincz. and Arpopleurum Lincz.Dr.
