TAXONOMIC DIVERSITY AND CONSERVATION OF CYPERACEAE IN THE WESTERN UKRAINE

109 species from 13 genera are revealed by critical taxonomic revision of Cyperaceae Juss. in the Western Ukraine. Due to of the systematic analysis is determined that taxonomic diversity of this family is numbered among 3 subfamilies. Cyperoideae include 9 genera and 22 species (Scirpus - 2 species, Schoenoplectus - 3, Bolboschoenus - 1, Blysmus - 1, Eriophorum - 4, Eleocharis - 8, Cyperus - 1, Pycreus - 1, Dichostylis - 1). Rhynchosporoideae include 3 genera and 3 species (Cladium - 1 species, Schoenus - 1, Rhynchospora - 1). Caricoideae include only 1 genus - Carex, but bestest of species - 84. Carex genus by T.Egorova (1990) included 4 subgenera: Carex - 49 species, Kreczetoviczia - 7, Vignea - 23, Psyllophora - 5. 33 species are rare in the Western Ukraine: 8 of them are entered into the Red Data Book of Ukraine" (1996), 11 more are proposed to include additionally for example Eleocharis multicaulis (Smith) Desv., Carex strigosa Huds, C. bicolor All. etc., 14 are considered as a regionally rare species.
