ESTIMATION OF PESTICIDE RESIDUE IN DIFFERENT CULTIVARS OF RICE IN NEPAL

Maiden attempt has been made to estimate the pesticides residues in paddy taking into consideration its all aspects from field to storage through GLC profile. Detectable amount of residues of a, b, g and d isomers of HCH, Aldrin, PPDDE, OPDDT and Endosulphan has been ascertained in different samples viz. field-soil, irrigating water, different parts of in vivo grown plant, straw and grains collected from five Panchayat of Bara and Parsa districts of Nepal. Consequences of these residues have been discussed at length.
