Our goal is to identify and clone non-S-RNase factors required for pollen rejection. We prepared SC10-RNase affinity columns and found that several proteins in crude style extracts were bound specifically. One is recognized by anti TTS antibody. Another is a protein of 11 kD seems to form a complex with SC10-RNase and the TTS-like protein. We are also using. Using cDNA-AFLP to search for other putative factors in a population segregating for ability to reject SC10-pollen.
