Anna V. Bogachova, Institute of Biology and Soil Science, Vladivostok 690022, Russia

The study of forest-diseases in the Russian Far East was started in 1928 by Kravtsev (1935). But, the list did not contain the data on discomycetous species. The study of wood-destroying discomycetes is important. This is necessary for the elaboration of control measures over fungal diseases. At present, 207 discomycetous species were reported only from the Primorsky Territory on wood and dar. She distinguished several groups of fungi that infect basic forest trees, as well as she discribed the distribution of these fungi on the territory. There were essablished the laws governing the nature of the distribution of wood-destroying discomycetes depending on the environmental condition. The functional participation of discomycetes in the life of various type of woods and the fungal infection of trees depending on condition, sort and size of trees was shown.
