BIODIVERSITY OF LICHENS OF POLAR URAL IN THE RUSSIAN ARCTIC

The territory of Russian Arctic consist of 15 natural geographical and floristic areas corresponded to the sectors of Arctic. Lichen flora of the Russian Arctic except Beringian sector is still very poor studied. The first checklist combines all for the Russian Arctic known data and includes 1102 taxa totally: 1078 species, 7 subspecies and 17 varieties in 192 genera and 69 families of lichens. There is poor information about lichens of European areas and Polar Ural area. Known lichen flora of Polar Ural Systematic study of the lichen flora of Polar Ural area was started. Lichens of mountain tundra mainly were investigated. Saxicolous lichens were collected on ultrabasic rocks, granites and limestone. New arctic-alpine crustaceous lichen species were added to the list. Lichen flora of the area is one of the most riches in the Russian Arctic now. An estimated list of lichens of the Polar Ural numbers about 500 species.
