XVI International Botanical Congess

The vascular Flora of Armenia comprises of 3200 species. The number of local endemics, relicts as well as rare plants is remarkably high. More than half of the total flora of Armenia must be considered to be at risk, but only about 10% were included in the last edition of Red-Data book. Only 1% of the whole flora is used by man. An evaluation of rare plants and endangered species has been made. Ways to improve their protection and conservation are proposed.
